This series of workshop iterations explore the ScarCity scenario; In which the city of Edinburgh can not depend on imported foods and thereby has to become completely self-sufficient. This scenario requires participants to make decisions on how to allocate resources efficiently to satisfy basic needs. Concentrating and reconfiguring the relationship between urban food demand and metropolitan land use.
Workshop participants are guided by a collection of curated data and maps. Participants can reflect and speculate on the need to define new paradigms of the food production system, in such a way as to generate spaces for human habitability that contri-bute to the environmental, economical, and social sustainability.
